What to know.
Two 1800s barns, one moved from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and one from Fowler, were joined to make the tasting room at Hartford Hill Winery in Fowler, in Trumbull County north of Youngstown. Randy and Carolyn Wyand opened it in 2015 on land they had owned for decades, with a hilltop vineyard of Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Merlot and Chardonnay. The wines run from sweet to dry, and house beer is brewed too. Wood-fired pizza and cheese plates cover the food. The patio looks over a pond with ducks, and bands play on weekends.
