Most weekend farmers markets in Cleveland happen on Saturday mornings, with a Sunday market on the west side and a few year-round markets and farm stores that cover the colder months. The picks below are grouped for a weekend morning, with what each one sells and what is nearby.
Market seasons and days shift, and outdoor markets can pause for winter, so check each market before you head out. The full Cleveland farmers market guide also includes weeknight markets and a map of every stop.
Saturday and Sunday
Farmers markets and farm stores for a weekend morning
Shaker Square
North Union Farmers Market
Best for: Saturday at Shaker Square by Rapid
North Union’s flagship market runs Saturday mornings at Shaker Square and is one of the best known farmers markets in Cleveland. The Rapid stops at the square, so you can shop without thinking about parking. Look for produce, eggs, pasture-raised meat and baked goods.
North Union also runs markets in Chagrin Falls, at Crocker Park in Westlake and at Legacy Village in Lyndhurst, which helps if Shaker Square is out of the way.
Peninsula
Cuyahoga Valley Countryside Farmers Market
Best for: A market inside the national park
The Countryside market sets up Saturday mornings on Riverview Road in Peninsula, inside Cuyahoga Valley National Park, a short drive south of Cleveland. Riverview Road follows the Cuyahoga River through the valley, so the drive is part of the trip.
Choose it when you want to pair shopping with a hike or an afternoon in the park. Shop in the morning, then spend the rest of the day outside, with the towpath and the village of Peninsula close by.
Valley View
Oxbow Farm & Market
Best for: Local meat and eggs in Valley View
Oxbow Farm & Market is a farm store on Canal Road in Valley View, near the northern edge of the Cuyahoga Valley, selling meat, eggs, dairy, produce, herbal tea and baked goods from local farms.
Weekends have the most stock, so it fits well on the same trip as the Countryside market in Peninsula. It is also a good choice when the outdoor markets are closed and you still want food from nearby farms.
Solon
Miles Farmers Market
Best for: Year-round shopping in Solon
Miles Farmers Market on Miles Road in Solon is open year round and is one of the busiest farm markets around Cleveland. It has produce, a full meat counter, bakery pies and cakes, and deli salads and fried chicken, so it can cover a whole weekend’s shopping in one stop.
Look for ramps and fiddleheads in spring and a wide pumpkin selection in fall.
North Olmsted
Frostville Farmers Market
Best for: A Saturday market on the west side
Frostville Farmers Market runs Saturday mornings at Frostville Museum on Cedar Point Road in North Olmsted, with local produce and goods from area vendors. It is the west side’s Saturday counterpart to Shaker Square.
The museum grounds sit in the Rocky River Reservation, so a walk in the Metroparks fits easily before or after the market.
Kamm's Corners
Kamm's Corners Farmers Market
Best for: Sunday morning on the west side
Kamm’s Corners Farmers Market is the Sunday option, on Albers Avenue in Kamm’s Corners, part of the West Park neighborhood on Cleveland’s west side. It keeps the shopping in the neighborhood and leaves Saturday free.
Kamm’s Corners has its own run of shops and restaurants around Lorain Road and Rocky River Drive, so the market turns easily into a late breakfast. George’s Kitchen, a classic diner on Triskett Road in West Park, is nearby.
East Cleveland
Coit Road Farmers Market
Best for: Year-round Saturdays on the east side
Coit Road Farmers Market is a neighborhood market on Woodworth Avenue in East Cleveland, near East 152nd and Noble. It runs Saturdays year round and adds a Tuesday market in season.
That makes it one of the few Saturday options on the east side once the outdoor markets wind down, and the closest market for anyone in East Cleveland, Collinwood or Euclid.
Ohio City
West Side Market (holiday season)
Best for: An indoor market in any season
The West Side Market on West 25th Street in Ohio City is Cleveland’s historic public market, open since 1912. It is indoors and open year round, which makes it the dependable weekend stop when the outdoor markets are closed.
Browse the vendors for meat, produce, bread and hot food. Around the holidays it becomes a food-shopping stop for holiday tables, with carolers and a gingerbread display among the stands. Check its days before you go.
Planning
A Saturday on each side of town
East side. Start at North Union at Shaker Square, then drive out to Miles in Solon if you still need meat or baked goods. Coit Road in East Cleveland covers the northeast.
West side. Go to Frostville in North Olmsted on Saturday, or wait for Kamm’s Corners on Sunday. The West Side Market in Ohio City is the fallback in any season.
South, in the valley. The Countryside market in Peninsula and Oxbow in Valley View pair well, and both put you in the Cuyahoga Valley for the rest of the day.
Weeknights
Markets that meet after work
If the weekend is already full, two neighborhood markets run on weeknight evenings in season. Tremont Farmers Market sets up in Lincoln Park on Tuesday evenings, and the Old Brooklyn Farmers Market meets on Thursday evenings in summer at Loew Park, at West 30th and Oak Park, with soaps and candles alongside the produce. Both are in the farmers market guide.
